There was a nice write-up by the folks at MileSplit on the Top Ten Teams to watch this coming cross country season, including Wayzata. One of the keys being that Wayzata returns six of its top seven runners from last year. One of the quotes caught my eye, however: "Olson and Carpenter will make a strong 1-2."

While Carpenter, a junior, is sure to catch fire this coming season it is another runner that will occupy the wingman position out of the gate. And even push Olson for top gun status.

Connor Olson and Ian Eklin both went under the previous course record at last Saturday's annual Alumni Run. Only two seconds separated the two senior runners. Overall, Wayzata had a 1-5 split of 40 secs, and a 1-7 split of 47 secs. A very early season barometer of good things to come.
